So here’s how Crystal Reef Swimwear really started:We were by the pool one day when my girlfriend showed me this gorgeous bikini she liked. I looked at it, looked at her, and said something bold like,“I bet I could make one of those.

 

”​She hit me with the “mmhmm, sure babe” face — the kind of look that tells you she doesn’t believe a word, and now you HAVE to prove her wrong.​

 

Next thing she knows, I’ve turned our place into a mini design studio. There’s fabric everywhere, a sewing machine humming like it’s fighting for its life, and she’s trying on half-finished tops while we both try not to laugh.​

 

The first few attempts? Questionable.But then they started getting good — like really good.

 

​She’d try on each new design, give honest feedback, tease me when I messed up, and hype me up when something came out perfect. Somewhere between the late-night sewing sessions and the “babe, can you try this one on real quick?” moments, something clicked.​

 

It wasn’t just a challenge anymore.

It wasn’t a joke.

It was a brand.​

 

And that’s how Crystal Reef Swimwear was born — out of a flirty dare, a lot of trial and error, and a whole bunch of “quality control” moments where she tries things on and I pretend it’s strictly business… but let's be honest, it's mostly for me.
